Cron job

A cron job is a task scheduled to run automatically at fixed times or intervals. It takes its name from cron, the classic Unix scheduler, and is defined by a five-field expression specifying minute, hour, day of month, month and day of week. Cron jobs automate backups, reports, cleanups and other recurring work.
