Any model — OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, Copilot, or any OpenAI-compatible endpoint (OpenRouter, a local Ollama, your own server) — runs on your own account, requests go directly from the device, no proxy. You pay the provider directly under their pricing (or nothing, for local models). Pro is for our own tools (Swarmcode, cloud sync) and app quotas, never for model access.

How does billing and cancellation work?
Subscription is managed by Google Play. You pay with your account's usual method (card, Play balance, PayPal depending on country). Cancel from Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → PocketCode → Cancel. You keep Pro until the end of the billing period.
Is there a free trial?
The Free plan doesn't expire. It's a complete product, not a demo: LSP editor, Linux terminal, AI with any provider (BYOK) including a Custom OpenAI-compatible endpoint, the full AI Office, 1 remote connection, 5 projects, 8 workflow templates. Pro unlocks quotas, Swarmcode and cloud sync — not basic functionality.
Is the AI free? Then what does Premium pay for?
All the AI is free — bring your own key for any provider (OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, Copilot) or point it at any OpenAI-compatible endpoint, including a local Ollama that costs nothing. PocketCode isn't an AI provider: inference runs on your account and you pay the provider directly (or nothing, for local models). Premium is for our own tools — Swarmcode and cloud sync — and higher app quotas, never for model access.
Can I use it offline?
The editor, Linux terminal, local databases (SQLite, embedded PostgreSQL), designer and manual workflows work fully offline. What does need internet: AI, cloud deploys, marketplace, cloud sync, SSH to remote hosts and API tester against external servers.
Is it safe to store API keys on a phone?
All credentials (API keys, SSH keys, DB passwords, OAuth tokens) are encrypted on-device. Sensitive actions (DELETE/DROP on DBs, opening Integrations, viewing masked columns in clear) require biometric authentication. We do not train models with your code and never send it to our servers — every AI call goes directly from the phone to the provider.
Any discount for students or open source?
Not yet. We're coming out of beta — if you fit one of those profiles email support and we'll see what we can do case-by-case while we build the program.
